Survival of the Fittest

champagne1Even in the depths of a recession it seems as if it’s business as usual for Pierson Workholding.  I fully believe business is strong because our products cater to companies that are forward thinking in nature; always wanting to improve their productivity and shop practices.  Despite the economic conditions around them our customers continue to press ahead with confidence.  The sales that we have NOT been seeing are from companies that still have rooms full of manual or outdated machines – knee mils, atlas lathes, etc.  Those are the companies that dwell in the shadows of FEAR and hesitancy.  Their fear is that the initial price of purchasing new equipment will “put them over the edge of bankruptcy”.  Well, with their mentality, it just might.  They most likely do not have the business prowess to take full advantage of significant purchases.  On the contrary, smart companies see opportunities like lower equipment prices then “Buy and Boom” – getting the most out of their investments.

FEAR… it’s a disgusting and debilitating characteristic for an entrepreneur to have.  FEAR causes them to freeze when they should be sprinting toward opportunity.  Here at Pierson, we’re not rolling over because some experts are crying, “RECESSION… DEPRESSION!” and neither are our customers.  So here’s to our loyal and BRAVE customer base that continues to advance their businesses while the cowards sit on the sidelines because FEAR told them to.

Cheers!
